A modern farmhouse kitchen mixes simple shaker cabinets, often white, cream or sage, with warm wood on the island or open shelves, a deep apron-front sink, and black or bronze hardware and lighting. It is less rustic than a traditional farmhouse: cleaner lines and fewer ornaments.
